Growing up a summer vacation was not complete without a trip to California. Many may be extremely jealous of these frequent trips, but to me they were just a tradition. We always made these trips to visit my dad’s family…generally California served as a stopping point before our family trip.
There are certain places we ALWAYS visit, so it was nice to mix things up on this trip. We stayed in Pasadena, more specifically Old Town Pasadena which is absolutely adorable. Shopping addicts dream! Each morning dad and I woke up early and wandered around looking for cute places to grab breakfast. I thought I would share some of my favorite finds.
This adorable little cafe was the perfect stop for breakfast or lunch! Dad and I split a fried egg sandwich that came with the most AMAZING red potatoes. The baked goods at the Market on Holly also looked phenomenal…there was a salted carmel rice krispie treat that was calling MY name! May need to make a return trip just to try that!
Or as any Parks and Recreation fans might notice it as Pawnee City Hall where the infamous Leslie Knope and her gang work!
Possibly the hoity toity-est coffee shop around…and I don’t mean that in a negative way. If you are a fan of fancy fresh brewed coffee this place is a must see. I just happen to not be a big coffee fan, therefore this place did not rock my world. I did love the interior and the twinkly lights (throw twinkly lights in any place and I instantly love it). My dad’s brother brought us here the last time we were out in Pasadena and we had to visit again. Be prepared for some very well dressed hipster coffee makers (I don’t think they call themselves baristas…coffee masters maybe?)
Shopping:SO MANY STORES! It is a shopper’s heaven. Strolling the streets, gazing into windows, and doing a little shopping is always fun. Pasadena has one of the most spectacular Anthropologie’s I have ever seen! That Patagonia store was also pretty awesome!
Because we were on such a whirl wind trip we were not able to go to every awesome place in town. Trust me, you will not go hungry in Old Town Pasadena…every corner had at least one restaurant that looked spectacular! One place I must try when we return? POP Champagne Bar!
