Last Day in China

Wow! I am getting all sentimental writing this post…I honestly want to put it off because I know as soon as I write my China trip will truly be in the past. I still can’t believe I got to spend 14 days exploring such a unique country with my mom! It was definitely a trip of a lifetime! end sentimental part.

Sarah and Anise exploring the shopping

For our last day we had a free day! Sarah came to the hotel and met up with us for a little shopping near the hotel! We wandered around a little bit looking for different gifts for friends, but after about an hour I felt absolutely miserable. Sarah and I left my mom with some of our group members and headed to the hotel. We hung out there for a while and I started to feel a little better. (thank goodness I packed a zPac)

For lunch we headed to the Shanghai Brewery. My only request was that I wanted somewhere I could have a burger. The Shanghai Brewery was super cool. I come from quite a beer loving family, so this was definitely one of my mom’s highlights of the trip!

my burger!

After lunch we attempted navigating our way to The Bund. The Bund is along the waterfront in Shanghai. It gives visitors quite a spectacular view of the iconic skyline. We walked almost the whole way there in the rain…

Sarah and I had gotten all dressed nicely to take a picture for our sorority alumnae newsletter but they will have to deal with a picture of us soaking wet.

I really loved the area near the bund…and as much as I hated the rain ruining my hair it made for some pretty stunning pictures!

We attempted (and failed miserably) at catching a taxi so we had to walk all the way back to the hotel. Now, I don’t mind a nice long walk but when I am wearing a dress and soaking wet it is not fun.

The failed attempt at catching a taxi. I mean come on taxis of Shanghai when you see three ladies struggling in the rain to catch a taxi you pick them up!!

my travel companions

We headed back to the hotel and tried to figure out our dinner plans. We ended up being lame and just eating in the hotel. We then wandered up to the roof top bar and found the most spectacular view!

so happy I got to see my Biffle
