I am one of those people that absolutely loves everything about the Christmas season. From the twinkling lights, to the music, to the live Nativity my school puts on, I love it all! My favorite part of Christmas is the magic that surrounds it. Being a teacher I am still able to experience the pure joy in believing in the magic of Christmas. The Christmas lights are probably my second favorite part! I love seeing the town lit up for the holiday season! Our main street is decked out in the most beautiful lights!
Christmas Morning with Grandma and Grandpa
This Christmas was very laid back. I flew in from D.C. on Christmas Eve and our family started a new little tradition. We went to Happy Hour at one of our favorite restaurants Cask and Larder. Two other families joined us and we had a great time just hanging out! It was MUCH less stressful than going to mass on Christmas Eve!
Christmas morning was pretty calm. It was just my immediate family, (we do a big family Christmas the weekend before). We ate a breakfast complete with chocolate croissants and then heading to 11 AM Mass.
Presents wait till after Mass…this was very difficult for me to grasp as a child (I was the kid up at 6 AM ready to go!) Unfortunately, this year my dad was on-call, and had to go into work while we were at Mass. Presents did not get opened until close to two pm…but it was worth the wait! I GOT A BRAND NEW BIKE!
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. We drank mimosas…took naps…and then ate a DELICIOUS dinner cooked by my talented mom.
I hope everyone had a very MERRY Christmas spent with friends and family! I am so blessed to have off work to spend this time with my family!
