Hometown Highlights: East End Market

East End Market is a new neighborhood market, inspired by local farmers and food artisans. It is located in the Audoban Park Garden district of Orlando. Straight from the website…”The first floor hosts ten independently-owned businesses offering local seafood, meats, daily baked bread, freshly roasted coffee, Italian prepared meals and sweets, Kombucha, organic juice, raw food specialties, artisan cheeses, savory soups and sauces, local produce and flowers.”

I went today, and it exceeded my expectations! I was expecting a low key little neighborhood market, but you walk through the doors and feel like you are in a magazine. Each vendor adds their own unique flare to their space, corresponding to their specialty. Be it the whimsical set up of the Porch Therapy garden merchant or the eccletic Skyebird Juicebar, East End Market has it all.

I must say, it is a photographers playground inside. I am already looking forward to heading back with a real camera (no offense to my trusty iphone camera!) My mom and I could not decide what to get for lunch, we ended up sharing two sandwiches from Houndstooth …one word. delicious.

I wandered through the market and could not leave empty handed. I purchased my very first plant for my new house. This beautiful little succulent (the pink one) is now mine. I am already planning on getting another.

We only spent a short time exploring East End Market, but there are many other merchants inside. I can’t wait to go back and try them all.

image_9It took everything in my power to stay away from the baked goods. I mean how perfect does that wall of bread look? I don’t think my willpower will be as strong during my next visit.
image_6I know one person who is going to love this little coffee bar (cough cough Amanda). Coffee not your thing? They have a bar right when you walk in with locally brewed beers on tap! image_5The coolest part about East End Market? They have their very own garden out front!

If you live in the Orlando area I strongly recommend you check out East End Market! You will not regret it.
