Almost 2 years ago in my children’s lit class we were able to choose a book of our choice to read. My book was Lois Lowry’s Gossamer (great read), but one of the options was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Everyone that chose that book absolutely loved it, and was already flying through the second book by the time we shared our presentations. Sarah chose to read The Hunger Games and then let me read it on her kindle one weekend at the beach. I remember being INSTANTLY hooked! I asked her so many questions while I read it (probably driving her crazy)…Suzanne Collins did a fabulous job leaving me interested and intrigued in the story.
After finishing the first two books I had to wait patiently until the third one was released…Now they are finally turning the books into movies. I was extremely terrified that the movies would turn out like Twilight (no offense, but I think they are terrible movies) but after seeing the first trailer, I have high hopes for this movie! If you haven’t read the first book, get reading! The movie comes out March 23rd, and I can promise the book will be better than the movie (books always are)! Watch the Trailer below…
The movie features the talented Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, Elizabeth Banks as Effie, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, and many more! Which character do you think was cast best?
