The Last Trip of the Summer

This has definitely been the summer of travel…I have made my way to 5 countries in Europe, the Bahamas, California, North Carolina, and last but not least Atlanta, Georgia. My roommate Amanda was up in Atlanta doing an internship all summer, so Marisa and I decided to fly up and visit her.

Marisa and I riding the MARTA to meet Amanda close to where she worked

The first night in Atlanta was spent at the COBB Theater seeing the incredible Bon Iver in concert. I really only knew one song by them, but I went along anyway. The concert was amazing. The band must have played 25 different instruments as the night went on.

The next day we went hiking. This is what I loved about Atlanta, you can go hiking twenty minutes from the city. We hiked to Amicalola Falls. It was a long hike, but the views were completely worth it.

We spent the rest of the trip exploring downtown Atlanta. Amanda showed us some of her favorite places. I also got to see my Big! She was interning in Decatur, Georgia (one of the most adorable towns ever).

We were so lucky to get to stay at Amanda’s Aunt and Uncle’s house. They have the most beautiful house in the mountains, about 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. We had so much fun hanging out there. They have so many animals, including two adorable bunnies! One night we played an intense game of badminton, until I was distracted by the lightning bugs! 🙂 They also had the most delicious fresh blueberries.

After our fabulous trip ended, we hopped in the car and drove ALL the way back to Florida! I honestly can’t believe summer is over, I wish I could just keep traveling!
