Day Eighty Seven

This morning was Palm Sunday…such a long mass! It is the one mass though that the church provides it members with a distraction. During the homily I was so tempted to turn my palm into a cross…but I refrained because no one else was…but sure enough five minutes into it my entire row was making them (2 older ladies included!) Picture of the day is of my palm crosses…I made one for my roommate Amanda because she couldn’t go to church.

After Mass I did homework (this weekend had a LOT of homework) At 6pm I left for my service event. I honestly had no idea what to expect. All I knew was that it was for the Children’s Home Society of Florida and it was at the History Museum…Well let me tell you if you ever need to host an event in Gainesville do it at the Natural History Museum. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life! We also had an extremely easy job (clearing tables) Lucky for us, there were not many tables, and most people threw their own trash out. So we spent the entire night eating delicious gourmet food and exploring the museum. It made us all feel very classy for one night in Gainesville. Exploring the museum had to be my favorite part…and let me be the first to say I am not a museum person, but this museum is amazing! The exhibits are great and so realistic. I wish I had brought my big camera with me…but sadly all I had was my tiny one! I am putting together a video for ACTIONS! so they can see how much fun we had! I honestly felt like I was in the movie Night at the Museum. It was like we had the entire place to ourselves (I don’t think people thought you could walk around!) Picture of the day was taken by Darrell…it is in one of the exhibits! See I am holding Tempest in the palm of my hand!! Creative isn’t it? Took us a while to get right, and we got some crazy stares but it was worth it! :)! I honestly had such a great time, and I was volunteering! I always knew you could have fun while helping other people! :)!
